CONDUCTIVE FOAMS
How does antistatic foam work?
The function of antistatic foam can be compared to a protective cushion that safeguards delicate components, products, and semi-finished goods. In addition to its obvious cushioning and protective properties, our foams have been developed to provide protection at the ionic level, which means ESD protection. What is ESD protection? Electrostatic discharge is a physical phenomenon that occurs naturally. It refers to the transfer of charges between objects with different electrical potentials. It is most often observed when two materials rub against each other. To avoid unnecessary friction, it is worth using antistatic foam, which helps minimise the potential risks associated with these adverse physical effects.
Custom-size ESD foam
We offer antistatic foam in predefined dimensions, but if you require a precisely specified size, custom-size ESD foam is one of our additional services. Please contact us and one of our consultants will help select the ideal antistatic foam size based on your exact requirements. We invite you to get in touch – all relevant information is available on the store website.
What is ESD foam used for?
Antistatic foam is primarily used to protect highly sensitive components in the electrical and electronics industry, but it can also be used wherever additional protection for delicate items is required. The only limit is the intended application. It can be used as interleaving for items prepared for transport or stored in warehouse environments.
ESD foam in our range is available in the following types:
- Black conductive foam, soft (300x400x10 mm, 550x350x10 mm, 1000x1000x6 mm, 1000x1000x10 mm)
- Black conductive foam, hard (1000x1000x6 mm, 1000x1000x10 mm)
- Pink antistatic foam (1000x1500x6 mm, 1000x1500x10 mm)
