Two-point probe for resistance measurement - precise surface resistance measurement in ESD environments
The two-point probe for resistance measurement is a specialized measuring tool designed for verifying the electrostatic properties of materials used in environments requiring ESD protection. The probe enables surface resistance measurements in small areas where the use of standard measurement electrodes may be difficult or impossible.
Model 844 has been designed as a compact probe with a flat contact surface, making it suitable for measurements on small components, ESD packaging and in hard-to-reach areas such as inside housings or structural recesses.
Probe construction and measurement stability
The probe is equipped with electrodes made of conductive rubber with a resistance of less than 20 Ω, ensuring stable contact with the tested surface and repeatable measurement results. A built-in spring mechanism maintains consistent pressure of the electrodes against the material being tested, improving measurement accuracy.
The pin spacing is approximately 10 mm. When measurements must be performed in even smaller areas, the probe can also be used in a single-point measurement configuration. The design allows easy replacement of the measuring pins if they become worn or damaged.
Key features of the measuring probe
- designed for surface resistance measurement of materials,
- compact construction for measurements in small areas,
- electrodes made of conductive rubber (R < 20 Ω),
- spring-loaded mechanism ensuring stable contact,
- pin spacing of approximately 10 mm,
- replaceable measuring pins,
- suitable for measurements in packaging, small components and enclosure interiors.
Compliance with standards
The probe is designed in accordance with the requirements of IEC 61340-4-10, which defines methods for measuring electrostatic properties of materials and surfaces.
The two-point resistance measurement probe is a practical tool used during quality control in electronics manufacturing environments, research laboratories and during auditing and verification processes related to ESD protection compliance.
